Successful pre-acceptance of the first "L" hot measuring cell

Customer approval received for delivery of the alpha.hot3D L-cell

The first hot measuring cell in size L has been accepted by the customer at #nokra and approved for delivery. The hot measuring cell is available in three different sizes for different measuring volumes: S, M or L, depending on the part size. The two smaller model types S and M have already been qualified in production. The L tabletop unit, which has been released for dispatch, is currently being delivered and is due to be commissioned at the customer's premises by the end of this month.

The optionally available TWIN sensors installed in the L-cell ensure that both, rotationally symmetrical and non-rotationally symmetrical components can be measured. The TWIN sensors prevent shading effects of non-rotationally symmetrical components. In addition, a heating/cooling unit ensures the temperature control of the sensors. This compensates for the temperature input of large hot specimen.

The L-cell can measure specimen at temperatures of up to 1,400 °C with a weight of up to 20 kg, a diameter of up to 220 mm and a height of up to 230 mm. The M-cell is in operation for specimen at temperatures of up to 975 °C with a weight of up to 10 kg, a diameter of up to 140 mm and a height of up to 160 mm.

The hot measuring cell scans the hot forged specimen and predicts accurately their cold dimensions in just a few seconds. To evaluate the part, the feature results are displayed, and a digital twin is visualized in 3D. For optimizing the forging tool life, tool wear and its trends are monitored continuously.
