A measuring system analysis (MSA) must be carried out before commissioning a laser measuring system with measuring equipment capability for the flatness and contour of sheets and plates. This involves analyzing the measuring system based on statistical evaluations of characteristic values such as: spread, accuracy, stability, linearity, repeatability and reproducibility.
Various methods are used to verify the capability, such as:
- Method 1 to determine the accuracy and repeatability of the measuring system,
- Method 2 for checking the operator influence on a measuring system capable of procedure 1,
- Method 3 as a special form of method 2, if there is no or negligible operator influence.
A measuring equipment capability is always determined in relation to a specified tolerance. For this purpose, the measuring equipment must have a resolution of less than 5 % of the tolerance to be determined!
The nokra alpha.fi compact laser measuring systems offer automatic monitoring in accordance with MSA method 1 as standard in production operation.
