The presentation of the new flatness and contour measuring system alpha.fi 2.0 is a “complete success“ Michael Trunkhardt, nokra’s managing director, announces.

Launched at METEC 2015, nokra could deliver to the first customer in South Africa after three months only.

nokra’s flatness and contour measuring system with its high precision laser sensors alpha.plus measures significantly more precise than its predecessor. Another advantage: Due to its slim shape, it can be reliably used in difficult and narrow spaces, as they prevail at many conveyor systems.

With the optimized evaluation software, customers can optionally and individually decide on European, American or Japanese standards and norms as well as they can evaluate according to their individual specification.

„The compact design requires less maintenance effort, the improved live-time of the precision sensors and the much shorter commissioning time – effects of the new software - provide for a high ROI. Due to these advantages, the application is suitable for new market segments in the quality steel and aluminum production, which have not been served up to now, “Michael Trunkhardt summarizes.

nokra Optische Prüftechnik und Automation GmbH was founded in 1991 as a spin-off from Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) and Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) in Aachen. As a medium-sized technology company we develop, produce and distribute laser based measurement devices for automatic inline inspection of geometric properties of products in the metal, automotive and glass industry. Products to be inspected are rolled products (coils, plates, profiles) in the steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metal industry, large-diameter pipes as well as vehicle components, e.g. camshafts and crankshafts, axle supports, windscreens.

nokra has installed well over 200 inspection systems. Almost 2,000 laser sensors are used in these devices. The group of customers reaches from Germany and Europe to industrial locations in America and Asia. These customers are international steel and aluminum producers, plant manufacturers as well as automobile and glass manufacturers.
