Concentrated laser competence in Aachen

On Nov. 29, 2022, the LASER.region.AACHEN alliance partners and advisory board members met at the host Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT. Projects already approved by the advisory board on advanced laser optics, artificial intelligence, and cost reduction combined with sustainability in the field of metallic 3D printing were presented.
In addition, four of the 50 LASER.region.AACHEN partners were able to present themselves: Schwarz Wilden Industries, Moduleworks, LaVa-X and ID-Engineering.
In addition, topics such as participation in events, interest in a demo lab and the optimization of synergies were discussed in queries and workshops. Now it is time for evaluation and concrete implementation.
There have been some delays on the part of politicians, so projects that were in the starting blocks are only now finally getting rolling. Overall, one could feel the energy and motivation of all participants to move the projects forward together.
The LASER.region.AACHEN alliance is part of the BMBF-funded program "WIR! Change through Innovation in the Region" program funded by the BMBF.
