The technical advantages of the system are:

  • contactless thickness measurement with laser triangulation sensors on strips, even under operating conditions that entail high temperature variations
  • automatic inline thickness measurement with an accuracy of ± 1.5 microns
  • use with endless belts, reference runs are carried out e.g. during commissioning or planned maintenance shutdowns
  • traversing measurement of the thickness cross profile for very wide belts
