Precise measurement of geometry features

nokra supplies laser-based measuring and inspection systems for use in manufacturing. Our systems measure and inspect geometry features such as length, width, thickness, profile, shape and position. The laser sensors and automated inspection systems required for this purpose have been developed and produced by nokra itself for more than 30 years. Thus, very accurate measurement results are achieved and standard systems can be quickly optimized for the respective application.

Our know-how

Our experts have extensive knowledge in dealing with metrological issues in the steel, aluminum, automotive supplier industries, plant engineering and the processing of automotive glazing. In addition, we develop evaluation algorithms and system software that enable a user-friendly display as well as feedback of the digital measured data into the entire production process.


As a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institutes for Laser Technology (ILT) and for Production Technology (IPT) in Aachen, nokra was founded in 1991. The objective was to successfully use the laser triangulation method for inline inspection of geometric measurands in industrial applications. 

In the early 2000s, nokra moved to Baesweiler, 20 km north of Aachen. Today, our head office is located in the steadily growing Carl-Alexander-Park industrial park. Since September 2022 the new larger industrial area offers more space for the planned growth.
