Q4 - Modular software library for measuring and inspection systems
Ever increasing levels of productivity, flexibility, and quality are required in industry. Swift adaption of production processes to new tasks is essential. Measuring and inspection systems which are integrated into the production line play a decisive role here. They supply information on the characteristics of the processed product or the status of the current process directly and without delay. This means that deviations from the required quality can be identified in good time to enable the appropriate corrective action, through to control of the machine and process parameters.

 
Measuring is only the initial step - automation of the testing process and connection to higher-level communications networks are necessary, too, in order to fully utilize the potential for product optimization.
 
 
Q4 is the name for intelligent solutions for quality assurance and production optimization. Q4 is a modular software system which is suitable for various applications in the area of production. Q4 utilizes highly effective internet standards to monitor testing and inspection systems.
Industrial Standard
Q4 runs on inexpensive PC hardware and supports established standards: ProfiBus, CAN-Bus, RS 232, TCP/IP, HTML, XML, etc.
 
High Flexibility
The combinability of the elements and modules provides the Q4 software system with the necessary flexibility for adaption to the customer's requirements.
 
Short introductory period
The modules and elements of Q4 are already in successful use in numerous industrial applications and have proven highly effective in day-to-day production operations.
Q4 is divided into four elements:

1. Operation,
2. Data processing,
3. Automation and
4. Communication.


The Q4 elements provide measuring and testing systems with intelligence on a standard platform: the personal computer. With Q4, the PC shows the operator the test results, evaluates the measurement data, performs the automatic test process, and communicates with higher level systems via internet or intranet. Q4 is a flexible modular system. Each element of Q4 is comprised of standardized modules which can be combined according to the task concerned.
